Red Pine Exploration (formally VenCan Gold) has a long tradition of gold exploration and production in Canada, including the Edwards Property and the Edwards Gold Mine in the Wawa area of Ontario. The Company's current exploration projects focus on gold properties in Northern Ontario that are either in or near the gold district of Timmins.

In 2007, based on the insights of our skilled and knowledgeable geologists, Red Pine Exploration made a strategic decision to explore for potential gold properties in and around the prolific gold district of Timmins in Northern Ontario. The subsequent advancement of exploration on the Fern Elizabeth Property in Atikokan and on the Abitibi West Property southwest of Timmins followed this strategy.

Continuing with this strategy, in 2008 the Company acquired the Mount Logano Property in Timmins, which is in close proximity to GoldCorp’s Dome Mine; and later acquired the Costello Property, which is contiguous to Lakeshore Resources’ gold property and new mine just south of Timmins.

Management believes that these properties give Red Pine very promising exploration opportunities, and position the Company for new exploration in prolific past-producing gold districts.

During 2007 and 2008, the Company directed all of its exploration efforts in the Mining Districts of Sudbury, Porcupine and Thunder Bay.

In the first quarter of 2009 the Company began a very focused exploration initiative on both their Costello Property and Abitibi West Property.

Then in October 2009 Red Pine added to its Abitibi-West Holdings by acquiring a high-potential gold property located in the Dore/Rollo/Swayze Townships southwest of Timmins in the Porcupine Mining Division in the south central Swayze greenstone belt. The “Charlie Mortimer” Project lies immediately contiguous to the Company’s Abitibi-West Property.
